United Methodist LGBTQI clergy to be present at Judicial Council hearings

Members of the United Methodist Queer Clergy Caucus (UMQCC) will be present in Newark, NJ, as the Judicial Council of The United Methodist Church (UMC) hears several cases concerning the ordination and ministry of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI) clergy and candidates. Members of the UMQCC will observe several liturgical acts of witness, gathering before the hearing to pray over the room and celebrating Eucharist at the hearing's conclusion.

United Methodist Queer Clergy Release Easter Letter to Church

172 LGBTQI clergy and clergy candidates in The United Methodist Church (UMC) released an Easter pastoral letter, inviting the Church to deeper love, inclusiveness, and justice. The letter, organized by the United Methodist Queer Clergy Caucus, comes the week before the United Methodist Judicial Council is scheduled to make several decisions that will affect the ordination and future ministry of LGBTQI clergy and candidates within the church.
